Give the Boy a Hand(private)

A gay bar? Way to rush out of the gate with something really left field! Then again. Bar had been amongst his first thoughts too. He just hadn’t thought of a gay bar. That would be weirder, but Ozaki wasn’t sure if it was too weird for him. Even if he were a little more tempted than he ought be… Again there was no point in even trying to explore that ground. Things were complicated enough in his life without adding that element into it.

Ozaki thought for a moment as to whether or not he should explain more of the reason why he wanted to do this. Mmmm. Couldn’t hurt. “There’s this one person that’s taken a bit of… Interest in me. And I want to weird them out. Reckon if I act weird enough they’ll prolly loose interest.”

Ozaki tried to figure out how to answer that question. Fact of the matter was he didn’t know why the man was having his goons follow him. Maybe he should simply ask one of them next time. Normally he wouldn’t have the nerve to do such a thing. He’d much rather hide or distract himself from his own problems than confront him. But those problems were literally following him now.

But he was tired of hiding like a scared little mouse. He could dart his pursuers, but given Mordred’s reaction to anyone messing with his children… Ozaki was honestly hesitant to lay a finger on them. “I dunno what he wants honestly. Lets just say he seems the type to let his sword do the talking.”

Violent. Terrifying. According to him he seemed to only attack with due cause. But what qaulified as due cause for a vampire who could very likely be hundreds of years old and stuck in old ways of thinking? If he saw Ozaki kiss a dude he may very well freak out in a bad way. The vampire knew nothing about his sire.

It took awhile for Ozaki to respond, him using the excuse of trying to untangle a particularly stubborn knot for his silence. “Well for one. That was my second idea, not my first.” His first idea had been to run and hide from those keeping watch over him. That was not something he felt inclined sharing with Sharaku though. Sure it was his default when it came to dealing with his own problems… But that didn’t mean he wanted people knowing about it.

Ozaki was mildly concerned that Sharaku had divined so much from so little information. He’d been trying to be vague… If he weren’t high right now this would be a cause for great alarm. But right now he was just kind of… Noting the issue. He’d have to be more careful with his words.

But Sharaku was really really smart. Telling him at least some measure of it might be of some help… So long as he avoided details he could probably avoid there being too much risk in saying things. Maybe. “I may have… Definitely. Offended him greatly… While I was under the influence of the tainted blood.”

“Well that did happen. I mean explaining things.” After he dragged Ozaki’s bloodied unconscious body from his home. Ozaki was leaving so many things out. So many. “I guess I could go ask him directly but then I’d have to… Go to him directly.” And even with this sedative in his system the idea of walking up to his sire and asking him what gave was a no fun idea. He could ask the ones following him he supposed.

But if Ozaki really wanted it to stop he was imagining confronting the one who had ordered them to do it was his only real choice.

“If Nyx were involved it’d be completely different.” He didn’t run from other people’s problems. He wanted to help others, whatever the cost to himself. Whatever he had to do it’d be worth it if he could just do some good. He had this basically immortal body after all, might as well put it to some use.

But what if his problems and Nyx’s problems collided? She had already come in contact with his father. And in that case she’d been the one to protect him after phoenix fire had scorched his wings and skin.

He’d talk to the goons first… Maybe that would do well enough. As for impressions. He didn’t give a fuck about impressions. That vampire’s opinion was the one he cared least about in the entire world. What Ozaki was worried about, however, was the safety of whomever might go there. Maybe he could get one of the goons to send a note though.

Last time he had met his father and Nyx was there things were different. But he had a real family now. And Yuuto wasn’t in it… Plus he’d recently learned that something he had believed about Yuuto for his whole life was a lie so… That changed things. Yah. It was really good he had taken that sedative. All that was popping up currently for him was mild annoyance at the thought of him. What a pain.

Ozaki draped himself over the unicorn, hanging his head over it in weariness at the whole situation. “I think.” He muttered.

The action earned an undignified squeak from the bat that had been in one of his inner pockets a moment ago and had gotten a little squished by the action. It flew out of his coat and chittered its discontent, causing the unicorn to spook slightly and stamp its hooves.

“Shhoosh.” Ozaki commanded, cupping the bat in his hands and trying to put it back into the pocket. It went in initially, but then crawled up to his shoulder instead and clung there. “Sorry Battigan.” He apologized. Now the bat was awake he was likely to be up for awhile.

He then tried to settle down the unicorn before it caused too much of a ruckus.

There was a big difference between his own problem’s and others. Namely that his had been nigh impenetrable up until recently. Ozaki hadn’t felt like he had the right to do anything about his father considering he had thought it was his fault he had turned out that way… Theoretically some people might think that that made it their responsibility to do something. Perhaps that would have been a better way of thinking. But he hadn’t. He couldn’t.

Well maybe now he could…

Then there was Mordred.

The temptation of just staying on this sedative was a bit too high for Ozaki. All of this was easier to think about when it wasn’t inducing a freak out just thinking about it. There was so much baggage to each one of these things. For now it felt like a much more manageable thing to even be thinking about. Geez…

“Other’s people’s problems are just easier is all.” He had been running from his own problems for so long. But things had a way of catching up to you eventually… His sire was quite the fast runner. Few people could run as fast as Ozaki, particularly once he injected additional adrenaline into his system. He snorted randomly at his own thoughts. Funny.

The bat looked over at Sharaku for a moment, and in deigning him to be peaceable, settled back down. Ozaki had been thinking of at least maybe saying a little of why the bat was there. Something vague. But hey, when you were given clearance like that to be mum, why not take it?

Ozaki started grooming the unicorn again and snorted in laughter at Sharaku’s last comment. “And to think I was afraid I’d been giving away too much.” You wish he was joking. “Fact of the matter is I can’t tell you everything, its too personal. And prolly a bit dangerous too. To let you know it all I mean.” People liked helping too much sometimes, and that could get them in a lot of trouble. Ozaki was failing to see the irony there.

He just didn’t want them getting hurt on his account he didn’t… Deserve their help…

Well that wasn’t true wasn’t it? The list of his sins could be considered weighty, but without his father’s added onto it… It looked considerably smaller. Though that could just be the drug talking. He was hesitant to say anything of this to Sharaku though. He’d probably just think it was dumb anyways. Plus it was suuuuuch a downer. Those were a lot of words to handle right now. Where to even begin? “Umm… I don’t know either.” Ozaki thought he had a good reason before.

But now that reason was gone. So why was he holding onto it? Because it was hard to let go of a habit built over years. “Only reason I haven’t gotten killed by my problems is because… Well how I handle them works.” Running and hiding from his problems was what he did. It worked. But also it meant that they didn’t really go away. They were just stalled for later. Most people would think he was cowardly for doing that though.

“Weeeeell I suppose you of all people wouldn’t be likely to charge into a den of vampire gangsters or a vampire hunter’s house… Hippo-hype- I mean hypothetically.” He was cracking up at the fact it was not hypothetical at all. Those were the real, actual scenarios which people might charge into. This was his life. This was fucking hilarious shit right here.
