welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The Vamp Wolf | “….”
For the love of…
Why were some people so pigheaded? There was absolutely no point in doing this, besides racking up more body count than was necessary. And frankly, he couldn’t exactly do anything. While he was by no means slow, there was no way he could do anything against a shot being fired at point blank range unless he was right beside it happening, which he was not. On one hand, given what he assumed the guy was, he had to question whether a gun shot could even kill him….but that alone wasn’t exactly a guarantee, and he really did not wish to take such blatant risks. With his own life he perhaps would, seeing as that fell under his own choices, but deciding the fate of another wasn’t as simple, especially in a situation where there was no reason for them to deserve a bad ending.
Ugh.
He’d give the lizard man a cold look, crossing his arms over his chest. “Is that what it’s going to be? You being a coward until the bitter end? Your poor goons at least attempted to fight, but all you did was hide behind them, and now that you’re alone you once again resort to a tactic that lets you attempt to not put your life on the line directly. Honestly…those poor schmucks were way braver people than you in that regard.” The best he could do was try to bait the guy, so he’d let his pride take over and just come battle him instead of using low threat tactics. “…if you really want to know however, while I won’t deny that I would prefer for him to live…in case your intention is to have me break down because you’ve killed him, making me an easy target for you, you’re sorely mistaken. It’s pointless. If you kill him, I’ll just fight you anyway, having even less reason to take any mercy on you were you to lose. You can either actually retain some dignity and fight me like a man, or just be the coward trying to threaten to get an upper hand, and get a bloody fight as a gift anyway. It’s on you…really…” He wasn’t going to pull any punches either way. |

The winged lizard continued to grin madly as he held onto the beaten, tired, and probably dangerous Nightmare, the feeling of cold metal being pressed into his head not exactly helping matters either. The Nightmare would continue to glare at the lizard his red tinted eyes narrowed into slits as he considered the best way to murder this chum without making a huge mess. Surely the world would not miss this asshole if he were to die.
The thoughts of murder went through his head and remained firmly placed as he remained highly agitated about the gun versus scared. Still he wasn’t dumb. While he could do something rash being shot at point blank was not something he wanted to happen right now. Would it kill him? Not really considering what he was, but he would be out of the game for a while as his body gathered energy to repair itself…a ton of said energy was already being used by his current state anyhow and he would need any remaining strength to pull on if he did do something to this ass.
Sigh…He just wanted to go home and shutdown. Why was today like this and eh?
Red eyes would drift over to the other on the scene with them. He heard the other taunting the lizard and in response the lizard dug his gun deeper into the Nightmare’s head. What a pain in the ass. Oh, but it didn’t end there. No that was too much to ask for. The guy gave lizard butt a choice still using trigger words for the lizard who seemed to think that trying to drill a hole in the Nightmare’s head was a better idea than shooting him. Even so the Nightmare would take in the other’s words mulling them over slightly in the back of his head before being pulled out of that small thought as the lizard snarled.
“Coward? I’ll show you!” the winged lizard shouted in pure rage before the gun shifted and pointed lower before two loud bangs sound off and the Nightmare felt the impact of things hitting his legs right near the knee area. The feeling was odd and carried some pain to it as it damaged the form he had currently by punching holes into his legs.
The Nightmare didn’t scream out though and outside of material being damaged there wasn’t exactly blood there. Even so as the lizard shoved him to the side and began to charge towards the other, the Nightmare would find himself unable to stand without support and so he ended up crashing to the ground. Down once more, the Nightmare would wince slightly as he pushed himself to sit up and his mind went a thousand and one ways for a second as he looked towards the areas of impact.
Tsk…those bullets made a mess of the area…that was gonna take time to repair. Hrmm….well so much for murder today. He would need to get the embedded bullets out, but first he was gonna see what happened to the shithead.
Meanwhile the winged lizard had indeed lost himself to pride and rage. His plan was simple enough. Beat the shit out of pretty boy, keeping him alive just enough to make him watch that weak one they had jumped die slowly and painfully. Yeah. We’d see how well that pretty faced talked after that. With his plan in mind, he would move a few steps forward before opening his mouth and hurling out another of those electricity balls at the other. The ball would come at him head on, but the lizard wasn’t done as he hopped to the side and fired off his gun from the left, thinking perhaps if he used a combo something would hit the pretty boy and begin his fall. _________________________________________________________
Lizards Lizard with Knife: Down and out due to being drained Lizard Guard (Rika): Deceased Lizard Leader: Active. Stabbed and pissed off. He still has the sword in him and is armed with a gun. He fires another electrical ball at Sharaku and then tries to shoot him. He is getting around well for someone impaled.

The Vamp Wolf | The response was not exactly what he would have hoped for, causing him to narrow his eyes at the reptile asshole in annoyance, but if nothing else it worked in averting a full on murder attempt. Well, theoretically. He was pretty sure he was the target for that instead now. Not that the switch bothered him any though, as much as he was not fond of that gun. Bullets were troublesome even for him, and he did not want to have to dig metal chunks out of himself after this.
Certainly, he would much rather take the electricity burn than a shot, as the former could heal cleanly without any outside assistance, but in this case…charging through would not help him as much as it did with the knife back then. He needed to go towards where the gunshot came from to do anything, as he lacked long-range options himself. Unluckily for the lizard man, he had more tricks up his sleeve than simply getting recklessly physical and ignoring any recoil damages, as effective as that could be when done correctly. Flipping into his bat form, he’d fly up higher to avoid the projectiles coming at him. Though frankly, the bullet didn’t even need any extra evading, as getting a lot smaller put him out of its aim almost by default anyway.
With the intention to use the sudden change as an advantage by confusing his opponent, he would quickly swoop his way towards and past the lizard, switching back into human form to land behind the man to try and grab the handle of the sword lodged in him, and yank it out with force as he stepped back some to keep enough distance for him to be able to react to a retaliation were one to come. Doing that would give him an actual weapon to use, and also open up the wound that had been plugged until now, causing a lot of bleeding, which would be dangerous for his opponent. “You’re free to try showing me, but it’d do you good to know your limits.” |

Negative emotions were often a curious thing. They caused a lot of pain and distress and made one act in ways they typically wouldn’t if they did not exist. Yet at the same time those same emotions could drive a person to do things rather recklessly... Kill themselves, kill another, or even make one feel invincible when clearly all odds were against them.
The latter was certainly what was occurring to lizard butt. Yes the rage and pride gave him the ability to ignore his pain and in turn attack, but at the same time it made him reckless and blind with his power and the way he attacked. The electricity ball would miss its target slamming instead into a pole nearby…which unfortunately blew up a generator near it and took out a good portion of some businesses' power. The loud pop the sucker made was enough to gather quite a bit of attention as most in the area scattered to be away from the literal lightening storm. The bullets could’ve been a problem if it hadn’t been for the unexpected chunks of metal that lifted up from the ground in a random pattern causing the bullets to impale them rather than the kid that was a little to close to the area with her mum. Yes it meant ripping up the ground, but the ground could fixed...the dead could not. Anywho, s bullets plugged themselves into the metal, the chunks would drop back to the ground with a clatter that didn’t seem to disturb the enraged lizard at all.
No he was much to focused on murdering the pretty boy who was now only making his blood boil even more by turning into a bat. Yes it was confusing, but not enough to keep him from acting. When the guy tried to go up, the lizard balled his free hand into a fist swinging it down as he tried to bring down a bolt of lightening upon him. The thin concentrated bolt of liquid fire making a strange screeching sound as it came towards the earth. Whether it hit or not, the lizard wasn’t quick enough to stop the other from pulling the sword out, the sudden yank causing intense agony and a lot more blood to pour out…However, it didn’t slow down the reaction of the lizard as he spun around in his spot and made a lunge towards the other his body letting off an electrical dome of electricity that he was trying to use both to protect himself and harm the other.
“I HAVE NO LIMITS, BITCH! I AM FUCKING ZEUS!” the lizard was screaming, clearly out of his head.
Rika would continue to watch this, his head tilting to the side with an unusual calm his usual golden eyes fully red now. In the background, the bent pole began to wiggle a bit on the ground…. _____________________________________

The Vamp Wolf | Tsk. Well, it wasn’t like he absolutely had to go up and right into the artificial lightning bolt. All he needed was to flit past the guy to get behind him. He could go sideways to pass by him too, it was simply that going overhead would be the safest and best solution under normal circumstances. As a bat, he could move fairly quick either way, due to small size and being able to fly. Changing course was easy, and so would be avoiding an attack that had even been telegraphed by the guy’s arm movements…
However, he was still being faced with an annoying dilemma. He did not have ways to snipe from a distance, and the lizard was clearly not the type that was easy to approach close up. Not when doing that meant getting electrocuted. The sword was little help as well, given that metal conducted electricity, so as long as he was holding it, he’d only make himself part of the circuit too by putting it in contact with the voltage. Well, maybe he had to just deal with it…? Yes, that would be very disorienting, and hurt all over, but it wasn’t like the electric shock would kill him. The question was, could the guy be affected by his own power? If yes even to an extent, he could make things work as in a contest of who lives being electro-fried longer, he’d naturally win sooner or later, but if the answer was a hard no, he was going to have a few problems here.
“So…? What if you fancy volt tricks can’t do the job?” In all fairness, for a lot of normal people, electric shock would be an effective way to kill, but this was hardly a world where anything worked on anyone in equal measure. Well, it did make him unable to really try to use his werewolf powers, which would have been nice, but he could still deal with this…
By just taking it head on, stepping forward to meet the lunge to try and stab the lizard through a second time, this time more in the chest area, using his other hand to grab at the guy’s throat with his claws. If this meant getting electrified, he could deal with that for a bit, and seeing as living bodies were great conductors, the two of them would just make a circuit as they remained in contact and the voltage would be passing through its owner as well, were he to choose to keep it going. |

“Then I’d just have to find even more creative way to kill you!” the lizard would hiss before he let off an unstable laugh. From there well things got a bit interesting to say the least. The wobbling pole would become still for a moment as the Nightmare raised a brow watching the lizard go forward and also his roommate too. Rather bold going directly into electricity. Was he that confident in his survivability or was there something more at play. The Nightmare didn’t quite know, but he did make notes of this behavior and what he saw the guy do. He was an impressive fighter for sure. Perhaps someone to keep watching down the road. Something to consider when he wasn’t in a state where just the act of staying conscious was exhausting.
That aside, lizard butt was not expecting the other to throw himself into the dome. Nor was he expecting the grab or sword his rage making him a blind fool. He tried to back away, but in the end his body was becoming too weak from the previous wound to move at his normal speed. So in the end, the grab and stab were successful, the circuit completed.
The lizard would let out a strangled scream of agony, but it wasn’t so much from the electricity, but rather the sword going into his chest. That was unpleasant after all. It caused more pain, but somehow through it all the lizard tried to hold up his barrier the electricity flowing through them both charring his scales; however, no matter how hard he tried his body didn’t like the abuse and so in the end he dropped the dome.
Trying his best to breathe and focused through vision that was quickly blurring, the lizard would glare at the one who had him before giving a maddened charred grin. Electricity was his forte. He could heal from being battered by it after all, his kind were trained for it. If this punk thought being close up and trying to make a circuit was going to work then he best think again! The lizard cough cackle a bit before unexpectedly drawing up all his energy and then in one quick beat unleashed a powerful pulse of electricity designed to push away, but also tear up whatever was hit by it.
Even if the guy fell into the category of hard to kill or immortals, even they wouldn’t be able to take that blow without paying the hefty price of getting severely electrocuted. Add the fact they were currently a circuit, this pulse could cause a reaction similar to the generator blowing up. Oh yes it would hurt him too, but hopeful this rather annoying pest would not only be away from him, but hurting even more than himself…. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Tab Bodies in the area: 2 Citizens’ Level: Fearful and concerned, but most certainly is not trying to get involved. Lizard Boss: Bleeding and enraged….and stabbed again, but still trying to win despite his body giving out from everything that is happening to it. Used: Electrical Pulse – a concentrated pulse of electricity powerful enough to cause moderate damage to the one struck with the added ability to push the struck target away by a few feet. The fact they are a currently a circuit only adds onto the potency of this thing if it remains in tact.

The Vamp Wolf | Bold? Perhaps it really was, but he did not have much of a choice. He couldn't just keep dodging forever, as that was only a risk and he could eventually slip up, taking a big blow for nothing. At least this way, he could be sure the pain was worth it. Getting electrocuted did hurt, and he was forced to stay in place due to shock paralysis as long as it kept going.
The fool messed up by stopping though, even if only for a short while. He wasn't going to stay past that, given the pay off was not good enough for him to keep suffering through that. And while he was sure seeing stars momentarily, it didn't take a lot of coordination to let go and do his best to jump backwards. Ungraceful and all, with him going down on one knee as he tried to recover from the worst of that fry, but it would put enough distance between them so that he did not have to take the full burnt of the upcoming attack. The smaller shocks that would still reach him even after travelling some distance through the air weren't nearly as bad as what he already got anyway.
Besides, now all he really needed to do is bide his time. With two run through sword wounds like that, there was no way the guy could keep exerting himself for much longer. Even if the electricity had not done a lot to him, those physical injuries could definitely end up fatal if underestimated. |

The Nightmare’s crimson eyes would watch the whole scene and see the one fighting go down on one knee. There was a small tick of some odd emotion he couldn’t really name. It wasn’t exactly anger even though a pinch of that was there. No it was something between multiple emotions that left the mind numb as to what to do with them, so his face remained blank as he watched the whole scene.
The only thing snapping him back to reality was the light bite of electricity that hit him from that pulse. Being on the outer circle it wouldn’t hurt him terribly, but the snap and involuntary twitch it caused his hand brought him away from his thoughts on the situation as it focused on instead the lizard. It was pure instinct that drove his next action. He was hit and in turn wanted to hit the lizard back, but he couldn’t physically get up right now, so he opt for the next best option: that pole from earlier. He would focus on it placing some energy out there to grab it. That pole would wobble a bit before picking itself right off the ground and hurling itself straight at the back of the still standing lizard’s head, looking to impale it would seem.
And would lizard butt have noticed? Not really. That last attack used up all his energy and now the guy was slumping a bit glaring at the pretty boy all the while breathing heavily as blood continued to pour and drain from him. His body was at its limits even if he wanted to still crush that face in, but he couldn’t show that right? No he had to win. Had to.
The lizard would grit his teeth and try to pull in enough strength to take a step forward, but he wouldn’t get anywhere. Right at that moment when he thought to take a step, the pole would strike him, but not impale? Why? Well that was simple. On its way to the lizard the way it was positioned suddenly went sideways so that only the blunt part of the pole hit versus the slightly blunt, but still dangerous enough to pierce end. The change had come about due to Rika managing to push down some of the bloodlust coursing through him enough to change the attack to a non-lethal one instead. It was something that caused conflict inside and a splitting headache, but the Nightmare didn’t care as he raised a hand to his pounding head. He didn’t want to kill….no….that wasn’t the right way…
As for the lizard that thump to the back of the head was the final straw for his exhausted body. As soon as it hit the lizard would let out a strange "Gah!" before falling forward at first at normal speed, but then a bit slower as some force slowed the descent and made it so he’d fall on his side versus even more upon the sword in his chest. Should Rika have been that kind to someone that tried to destroy him and his roommate, maybe not, but the Nightmare's heart was much to soft still to go with flat out murder for such a crime...
In any case, while the area was a wreck and people clearly uncertain about what to do, it looked like for now the battle was done and with that Rika focused on Sharaku not really caring for his own condition at the moment. “Sharaku…” he paused trying to move, but his legs wouldn’t allow him to. Stupid bullets... he would think glaring at the spots in his legs damaged from the attack. That was annoying, but even so… His eyes would lock back on Sharaku.
“Sharaku are you okay?” he would ask very concerned for the guy who had taken not only a stab and a pole to the back, but had been electrocuted to boot.

He would watch the other taking note of the damages on him, it was true the other could probably heal on his own given the things he had displayed through battle matched data he knew about vampires. Even so….he would meet the squinted gaze with a soft worried one and when he heard the answer given back? He looked off to the side a bit in thought before speaking. “I can help that process with…healing if you like,” he would say to the other his own body and mind already exhausted and wanting to just sleep, but he could not as long as he knew another was there with him and potentially could use help….

“I…see.” the Nightmare would say as he heard the response back about healing and the electrical burns. He still felt concerned for the guy even if he could heal on his own and a bit bad considering the guy got that way trying to help him….The guy moving pulled the Nightmare back to reality as he watched the other stabilize himself and stand once more. As far as who was worse off, who knew. The other could be playing off a lot more pain than he was leading one to believe he was in. It was hard to say. What was true though was that on a mental front the Nightmare was a a wreck from various things which in turn made maintaining the physical front even harder. His energy was being spread too thin as it tried to attend to everything at once making it hard to simply “wipe away” damage quickly, let alone keep his human shape and not crumble.
Meaning that when the other asked his question, the Nightmare would shake his head. “No. Even if I remove the bullets I will not be able to stand until I can reconstruct the area again. As for teleporting…I am not too sure if that is wise right now….” He didn’t like it. Being helpless like this, but he couldn’t lie either. The situation was what was no matter how much he hated the end result.

“…” The Nightmare would sigh as he looked to the side. “Yeah. You would have to do that. I unfortunately won’t be stable enough to stand even if I can reconstruct the look.” Sometimes being a concept was hard. It took a lot of energy to build a form and even more to redo it. On a good day this might’ve not been such a bad thing, but today where he was wrecked mentally from all that happened and lack of food? No. This wasn’t going to work…and he hated admitting that to another, but lying and trying to play it off would get him no where. Besides one look at him was enough to warrant questioning if he did go that route.
That aside, Rika would give a different sort of sigh as he looked over at the lizard with a bit of pity in his eyes. “Well, I’d hate to see him die…even if he was an asshole. I suppose we should call the ambulance. There is another that could use some help and I am sure dead body removal is needed….” Though he wouldn’t know how on earth they would explain the mess….and then there was the damage done to the area….Oh boy. What a pain.

The Vamp Wolf | "Why?" It wasn't like he couldn't just carry the guy, but wasn't the main issue the damage on his legs. Why be unable to get up even if it got fixed? Did it take so much energy to fix that he would become a limp noodle or something...? As far as he was aware, beings like that couldn't be harmed too seriously by real weapons anyway. It didn't make much sense to be so beat up just from that kind of thing. If he personally had taken a couple bullets, which would be more direct as he was perfectly solid, he could always heal back up after removing them and be more or less fine...well unless he'd been starving beforehand or such, but that was a pretty dangerous move to be making. Or if the person shot silver bullets at him, but given how brittle and easy to break metal that was, it was hardly used casually. Only people who were specifically after those like him would potentially carry a silver weapon on them.
Hnn...what a pain. He'd go back to just sitting down on the ground to save himself some energy seeing as they weren't headed out yet. Pulling out his phone to do the call, he'd glance over at Rika briefly. "Should I tell them to take a look at you too?" It was an option after all, if they were already calling medics to come over. Regardless of the answer given, he would busy himself with the phone talk after, answering all the questions about what was going on. |
