welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Not but an hour ago Ozaki had visited his mother. It had been years since he had seen her, years since he had taken her life. And yet… She had been happy to see him. She hadn’t been angry at him. There were people she were angry at. The man who had turned him leaving him in such a state where going feral from hunger was not only a possibility, but a guarantee. The father who had tried to kill him, chasing him out of their home, and pushing him to such desperate straights using the power of the Church.
And herself of all people. For not ending the marriage before it was too late. Before he finally did something that pissed someone off enough to act. She blamed herself… Apparently there had been times where she had even protected him. Those moments where Yuuto had gotten close as a mere inch away from ending his life, the smallest movement. The locking of a door, the pushing of a stake ever so slightly to miss its mark.
He was flying for about an hour before finally coming down and landing in the plaza, opting for wandering aimlessly on the ground rather than the sky for now. Antonio hadn’t yet found him after that flight. Or perhaps he had opted not to follow him… Ozaki couldn’t tell. He had told the man he needed to be alone. And he had said he’d give that. But had he? Ozaki didn’t know. And right now he didn’t really want to consider that either.
There was enough on his mind without considering his so called protection detail. So for now he'd put it out of his mind as he mulled over his time with his mother. To be honest... He still wasn't sure how to feel about it. She wanted to say it wasn't his fault. And everything she had said was right. But.. It was hard to let go of that feeling, the belief he had had for years.
If anyone else had told him a similar story he would tell them it wasn't their fault. He'd tell them exactly what his mother had told him. Their brutal turning had set them up for failure from the very beginning. Setting him up with a curse that even to this day he had to bare- the fact if he so much as took a nibble into someone's flesh he would be immediately set off into a blood frenzy. And yet he dared think he could help others... When he couldn't even help himself. To believe the things he told others. Ozaki knew the words he told others to be true... But it hard to believe them himself. To actually forgive himself for his own sins.

The Vamp Wolf | God, did everything have to be such a pain? He would have very much preferred to spend his time somewhere that was not the city area, and yet he had ended up taking an aimless walk through that exact area. Why was he here again? Well, bunch of dolts from one of his classes had tried to drag him with them to hang out, and he had for once really really made an attempt to go along…except that it turned out to very much be a fail, as his annoyance went through the roof when they decided they wanted to just go get drunk silly at some stinky bar. Needless to say, he had ended up straight up ditching their asses, as he did not have the time to be dealing with that, but now he was out on his own, and arguably with absolutely nothing to do. How perfect indeed. Although he certainly had no idea for what exactly. For his boredom and potentially bad mood, perhaps. As a matter of fact, he had just glared off some weirdo who seemed they wanted to take a gander at bothering him out of nowhere, running a hand through his hair with a sigh. Well, he definitely was a bit of an attention grab at the moment, pacing about shirtless, giving people a good look at his large jagged scars. So much for a moment of actual peace, eh…? |

“Excuse me little boy, are you lost?”
“Not a kid.” Ozaki would say, barely even glancing at them, trying to be extra obvious about the fangs as he spoke, and resummoning his wings if that wasn’t enough. After that the person thankfully left him alone.
Ozaki’s attention to his surroundings was basic at best right now, only paying attention just enough to avoid running into anyone. As his attention was, he didn’t really notice Sharaku until he was about five feet away from him. Face to face with just about the last person he wanted to see right now. Well… That was a bit harsh he’d admit.
Sharaku was… A challenging person. But he was like… Right in front of him now. And getting quite the eye full of scars. Those were pretty big ones. Ozaki looked away, then up at Sharaku, not wanting to be caught staring. Just walking away at this point would be rude. Right? “Why aren’t you wearing a shirt?” Was the first thing he could think to ask upon seeing Sharaku.

The Vamp Wolf | Paying attention, right. Honestly, he was for the most part ignoring anyone who didn’t happen to get close enough to him at that moment, not wanting to accidentally invite more strangers to try chatting him up. Thus, he hadn’t quite paid the other vampire any mind until he had been addressed, and actually had to look at who was talking to him, raising an eyebrow in mild surprise. Not what he had in mind when internally complaining about the boredom his situation landed him in, but perhaps it was better than annoying creeps wanting a word due to something they saw and didn’t like?
“I…hm, lost it I suppose?” He’d shrug sheepishly, a little taken aback by the odd question being thrown at him. What an unusual way to greet someone. “Does it matter though? I’m honestly not really missing it.” Oh well, having one right now would spare him from some of the looks he got from people, but that was hardly enough to make him worry. They could think whatever they wanted to, it was not his problem in the end. |

How do you loose a shirt? Sharaku did not look or smell nearly drunk enough to just loose a shirt. But he did seem the type not to care if people were starting at him. But… seriously there were a lot of people staring at him right now. “Well it’d spare you a lot of people looking at you.” He’d mutter. He himself always tended to wear long sleeved shirts. Even as a vampire he tended to get into a lot of trouble, which could leave some pretty nasty scars.
Pretty much the only part of him that wasn’t scarred currently was the left arm that Mordred had ripped off a couple of months ago. He got enough looks as it was at times without showing off those scars like Sharaku seemed to be blatantly doing right now. Though again. More likely than not he probably didn't care. He probably should have led with something a little more... Normal in greetings but... "Sorry. It just surprised me is all. I suppose if you don't care about that its none of my business." He could mind his own business. Unlike some people.

The Vamp Wolf | He’d snort. “I say let them look. Who knows, maybe I like showing off?” To be fair, saying that would be a bit of a stretch, but it was at the very least true that he had no problem doing something like this on purpose, even if it hadn’t really been so this time around. In his mind, it’d be a pointless, self-imposed restriction to never put an article of clothing away simply because of some scars. Chances were the scars would be there to stay until death, and that was a long time of playing the hiding game, and for what exactly? It didn’t kill no one to see, and there were far worse sights than a bit of marred skin. They weren’t even actual wounds anymore. “Besides, I’m not sure why so many people even care. I would have thought in a world full of hunters, and species who enjoy fighting, seeing a bunch of scars on people here and there would be relatively normal. It’s like people expect to never see any sign of something bad having happened or something…..” Personally, he thought that a little strange, but maybe that was just him.
“I wasn’t taking any offense though…but I do wonder now, do you think I should care?” Given the fact that it had apparently been important enough to mention as the first thing, he would guess that the vampire did think it to be something to care about. Why though? |

Ozaki could not help but sputter at that a little at such a bold statement. Like showing off? Well. Some people did hold a lot of pride in their scars. And pretty obviously Sharaku was well built. Not that he had been looking at that! I mean. It wasn’t like the were-vampire had been hiding it. You couldn’t help but see what was clearly on display. But right now Ozaki was making every effort to either only be looking at Sharaku’s face or elsewhere. Not at his scars or well toned muscles. That’d be rude.
At Sharaku’s outright question Ozaki’s wings fluttered slightly with nerves as he tried to think of an answer, he having not unsummoned them from earlier. “Well I guess you wouldn’t care.” Why did Sharaku feel the need to psychoanalyze everything? “Just not the kind of thing I would do because I wouldn’t want people staring at me. Buuuut. Obviously you and I are way different people. Nothing wrong with that of course. Just how it works. Hahah…”
In many ways, not just in the modesty department.

The Vamp Wolf | “Well…I could care, but it’s technically funnier like this. It’s interesting to see that something as simple as this makes people notice you more.” Though in all fairness, he wasn’t an easy person to miss in the first place. From his less than normal skin color, to his above average height, he was hardly one to blend in a crowd too well. Still, this apparently made people stare more for some weird reason…was it because the city people were less exposed to the more brutal things in their day to day lives? Perhaps.
He’d glance off to the side with a huff. “I wasn’t trying to imply there’s something wrong with either option…well, I didn’t mean to at least…” Well, he did find it a little strange when people were being overly shy about things, especially if said things were not that huge of a deal, but if that made them happy, there was not much he could say. “Anyway, didn’t think I’d see you here.” |

“Uuuh… Yah. I was just wandering around really.” His hair was slightly more chaotic than normal given his hour long flight. Only slightly though… He preferred to fly places if he could anyways so… You could say windswept was a normal look for him? Ozaki avoided eye contact with Sharaku for a moment, really hoping he didn’t go start asking personal questions. Though… At this point Sharaku had learned quite a bit about him given their last encounter intersecting with Mordred. He hadn’t exactly withheld anything in that one.
But this whole mom thing… He didn’t know. It’d be weird to talk about. Best to get his mind off it before Sharaku’s talent caught onto his weird vibes. Though. At this point it was probably used to those kinds of vibes from him. Distraction. Ummm… Well the shirt thing had been a distraction. But that was kind of… Already talked about.

Perhaps it was unfair of him to have such a reaction at seeing Sharaku. It wasn’t like Sharaku had tried to insult him before. They did have somewhat of a similar background, at least so far as being homeless for a time went… And it looked like even if Sharaku said it wasn’t too difficult for him, he hadn’t had an easy time at life either. Just judging by the scars. But that shared similarity and the connection with The Bloods seemed to be where their similarity ended.
It took all kinds, truly. His volunteer work at a Homeless Outreach program had showed him some of that. He was doing that in order to try and get some research in in how one might be run. He knew the concepts wouldn’t all be exactly alike but… Really the Outreach program idea was likely years away. He was just looking into it by volunteering weekly somewhere.
Any how… Right. Even without a talent he wasn’t exactly the best actor. Even when he was telling the truth he could look like he was lying. “Like you wouldn’t ask more in the first place.” He muttered. “But I’m really not looking to talk about anything like that today. In fact, I should get going.” The longer he stayed the more Sharaku would want to pry.
Looking at his situation back with the unicorns in third person… He supposed he too would have been pushy if he had seen someone in that kind of a state. So he couldn’t really blame Sharaku there. But he wasn’t sure he wanted to talk to Sharaku about things. Meaning to or not, he seemed to have quite a knack for… Well… He could be a little offensive at times… But usually he brought up good points. That didn’t make it any less…
Sharaku was usually right amount a lot of things. That did not make him any easier to be around. He also didn’t always sympathize with certain things that he just thought were stupid that other people didn’t get. Like the fact Ozaki still couldn’t feed properly as a vampire. Sharaku would likely get a kick out of that one.

The Vamp Wolf | “….”
God, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t perfectly ready to bite the guy’s head off for making that statement. That was quite a rude assumption to be making, and on top of it a lie that couldn’t be more obvious. Sure you need to get going when about a minute ago you said you were just wandering around. He’d have to be braindead to believe that, especially since the vampire kept using that same ‘excuse’ repeatedly whenever he wanted to avoid a conversation. Which seemed to be nearly every damn time. It would frankly be quite satisfying to knock a few of the guy’s teeth out as a thanks for all that blatant assuming right off the bat. It sure was one of the things that greatly bothered him about the guy. That annoying tendency to hold onto some resentment, only to subtly jab it under people’s skin at times without ever coming out about it honestly unless somehow pushed enough. And based on what he had seen Ozaki do in regards to Mordred before, it was safe to say it was more of a trend for the guy to behave that way.
But…he couldn’t. Remaining silent for a few moments, he’d glare down at the ground, trying to figure out how to respond. As always, this stuff pissed him off, but he knew better by now. After all, he always ended up getting angry instead of any other negative emotion that would probably have made more sense in the situation at hand. It was easier to get mad at someone and make them shove it up their ass than to think about the matter being upsetting. He wouldn’t get anything from wasting his time on brooding, would he now? It was pointless so…
Shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants for now, he’d give the vampire a somewhat bitter look. “…I don’t know, maybe I should have you tell me whether I’d ask more or not. For it seems you’re quite certain you’ve got me all figured out already. By all means, I suppose you can suit yourself and think that, but given how much you seem to dislike other people making assumptions about things, it surprises me that you don’t even make the effort not to do the same. You seem quite happy to pass your judgment on a person’s character despite only having interacted with them less times than the number of fingers on your hands.” He’d shake his head, a seemingly resigned half-smile on his face. “Though you know…you could at least be honest about it, if you really do feel your interpretation is the right one. Unless you’d also like to subtly imply that I’m a complete oblivious moron too. You’ve only just a moment ago told me that you’re simply wandering around here. Clearly, you don’t have anywhere you should be going right this moment. You only want to avoid me, don’t you? If you’re going out of your way to try to spit in someone’s face, it’d be nice of you to at least do it for real and own up to what you think about them.” His tone would imply he wasn’t trying to really argue this time around, although given that being direct with opinions tended to be translated as such anyway, he wasn’t even sure whether that really mattered… |

Ozaki really did do his best to not make assumptions… Hearing he was doing that with Sharaku did twinge a bit. He had assumed Sharaku would be overly nosy…. Though the last time they had been around each other he supposed Sharaku hadn’t been over the top with that. That could easily be because he’d realized it wasn’t the best move to poke someone you barely knew for highly personal information.
Then there had been that whole thing with Mordred… In someways he had to admire the gal Sharaku had.
And now Sharaku calling him a liar again… Thinking Ozaki thought he was stupid. No… He knew Sharaku would come to that conclusion by the words he had just said. Ozaki had figured it would be better to be direct about it than continue this conversation longer than it had to go. Ozaki just didn’t want to talk to him- or anyone- right now. Did he have to take it personally? Though granted… In someways Sharaku was likely the last person he’d want to speak to. Particularly now.
He didn’t know what to make of Sharaku. That had been his attempt to be blunt. But the other man was seeing a bunch of lies from it. Would Sharaku really rather be insulted? But that’s not what he’d meant… “Look. I’m wandering about to mull over some things. I’m not really out to talk to anyone right now. Though I suppose you can at times be a special level of difficult to talk to, so right now. Sure. I am trying to avoid you. There? You happy?”
He’d been better off in the sky if he wanted alone time. But he’d gotten tired of flying for so long that landing to wander had felt like a decent option. He wanted to walk away right now, but was hesitant to walk away in the moment knowing Sharaku likely would have something to say about him just walking away like that.

The Vamp Wolf | The obvious conclusions aside, he still did not understand what the vampire was trying to accomplish here. Had Ozaki already forgotten that he was the one to address him in the first place? If you’re not looking to talk to anyone, why the fuck would you speak up to someone just to then, whether directly or not, toss in their face that you want to avoid them a couple sentences later? It made absolutely no sense. He hadn’t even been paying the passerby people a lot of mind until he had been spoken to. The guy could very well have tried to turn around and walk in a different direction without acknowledging him, but clearly, that’s not what he had chosen to do…so why?
He’d half-shrug, staring off to the side. “I doubt that’s something to be legitimately happy about, though in all honesty, you just confuse me. You say all this like I’m being such a huge bother to you while you’re wanting silence, but unless I’m becoming delusional….you were the one that spoke to me first, asking about my lack of a shirt. I hadn’t even been paying you any mind at that point, until you said a thing. You literally started this conversation yourself, just to express the desire to get away from me barely a few minutes later. So I guess I’m sorry, but I just don’t get what is going on here….” |

“It surprised me was all.” Ozaki grumbled, wringing the fingers of his left hand through his hair. He had been the one to talk to Sharaku first. Though part of him thought that he couldn’t just go with saying nothing by walking by him… Or walk in another direction, upon seeing him. But he hadn’t really been paying attention to around him. Nor to the fact that Sharaku had been in a similar state. So he’d thought just walking away would be rude. Then again technically his reaction could be considered rude too.
“I’m going to go now.” He’d add after a moment, turning around and starting to walk away. No need to continue this any farther if neither of them really wanted to talk to the other. "Sorry for the confusion."
