Name of Talent: Yin
Concept: Yin represents Rika's natural abilities that allow him to manipulate energy with his mind to get various effects. All the powers can only make an attempt to do something to player characters or important npcs. This is a power not used to kill, but rather used to aid and make life easier for himself and others; however, as with all powers it can be harmful and even deadly when used wrong. Below is what he can use.
Extra(s): There are no noticeable physical changes in the Dreamweaver or any perks he seems to gain.
Positive Mechanics:
1. Telekinesis: A force that is used as a hand to grab, pick up, pull or push things around with.
2. Levitation: Since Rika can naturally be whatever he wants and float at will, this applies to objects and beings that are not himself. This is a force that is used to cause things to float.
3. Telepathy: An ability that allows him to speak directly to someone else’s mind.
4. Pyrokinesis: An ability that heats up an object and can make it catch on fire. Do not confuse this with a fire spell or fire manipulation. It only has the ability to start small fires on flammable objects and cause some moderate burns to the human body like being burned by a hot stove or iron. It also requires concentration and build up to actually do anything significant.
5. Clairvoyance: Allows him to see through other objects or things for a short span of time. He has to choose an object or thing to see with and he can only be about 5 miles from the selected object to see clearly. The further away he is the more blurry the image and once it hits 10 miles the connection is lost. Also if a thing isn't mobile he is restricted to seeing from that spot until he disconnects from it.
6. Force: Force is an energy that can be used to knock back or strike another being. It can also be used to place pressure on something to weigh it down.
7. Mind Possession: Controlling someone or something via their mind. This ability can fail if the person or thing is strong against mental attacks/invasions. Also for important NPCs and player controlled characters OOC or IC permission is needed to fully possess them.
8. Heal: Using some of his energy Rika can heal physical wounds and help those walking with mental ones. In the mind of the one who is receiving the healing there is a soothing presence around that eases the mind and allows the body to relax enough to accept healing. On player characters, he can attempt to use this ability, but it is their choice to accept it or not. He cannot use this on himself since he is a being of surrealism and can fix and reconstruct himself with time.
9. Bond: A passive ability that allows him to interact with and communicate with the strange black skull head crows that followed him from the dream world.
Negative Mechanics:
1. Healing cannot prevent death or help those that are not willing to accept it.
2. Mental abilities are weaker against creatures that have high resistance to mental attacks/tricks.
3. Due to being powers based from the mind, over using them can cause headaches and exhaustion. The larger something is, the more energy it takes to move it, lift it, or catch it aflame, etc. It also takes more time to recover from abilities when used in great quantities.
