welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Rumors spread like wildfire around the campus of Eldritch Academy and around the city of Mystopolis, that deep within a location beneath the school known as, The Catacombs, lies treasure. While most rumors of the that variety would never hold water? The Catacombs had recently been declared off limits by Eldritch Academy and the city government! With all the secrecy and the rumors it wasn't long before the seal placed over the location was broken and eager explorers or curious adventurous sorts made their way within. Once within The Catacombs three distinct groups formed to explore through the bone lined halls separately in an effort to increase their chances of discovering treasure or decrease their chance of getting caught. Following the second group we discover they have been caught up in a dilemma as the path forward to what looks to be a glowing chamber has been blocked by a flooded hall.

Rumors of the catacombs had spread pretty quickly around the school and while the Head of the School had said not to go looking for such a dangerous untouched place, many had already come to the area in search of treasure and adventure. The creature that appeared at the entrance of the catacombs was no different. It had disregarded warnings from the Head of the School. Disregarded the danger that could lie in a place that had been untouched for so long. It did not care for the consequences of what might happen if it got caught. The creature only cared for one thing: satisfying its curiosity.
It wasn’t the only that did this. No. It had seen some others entering the place too though the path that group took was a different one than the one it decided to take. So as it walked, the group went one way and the creature walked the other soon finding itself quite alone in the bone lined hallways of the catacombs. For a while, all it heard was its own hoof falls echoing around the hall it was in. The creature would keep walking until it found itself barred by what appeared to be liquid of some sort. Stopping where it was, the creature would tilt its head as its eyes looked forward towards a glowing room that was up ahead. The creature wanted to know what was in that room, but there was the problem of the flood in the hall.
Strange eyes would drift back to the liquid substance blocking the way. Being careful, the creature would walk to the edge of the substance making sure to not get its feet in the stuff as it kneeled down to examine the substance using its sense of smell and sight to see if this was water or something else. To further its study, it would grab some rocks nearby and toss them in the water to see if they did any of the following:
1) Disintegrated or bubbled suggesting whatever was before it was hazardous in an acidic or toxic fashion.
2) Did they sink? And if so how far down did they go? This could help with gauging depth and some of the nature of the liquid.
3) Did the liquid react in a hostile manner suggesting it was actually a living thing or perhaps had something hidden in its depths to contend with?
It would perform its experiments to determine what to do next.

-Eldritch Academy, nighttime-
Wearing a green sweater with a green skirt and black tennis shoes, Kaname carried her sword with her as she walked around the moonlit campus, but it was concealed using her Talent. She was on her way to the catacomb rumored to be on campus because it had been too long since she had done anything exciting. Besides, her sword was starting to try and control her again. Perhaps if she went into the catacombs it would shut up and leave her alone for awhile.
Thinking that she had heard footsteps somewhere close by, Kaname used her Talent to turn invisible to the naked eye. The hybrid watched as a brunette in a black shirt and gray skirt with brown boots passed by her without even knowing she was there. The hybrid smiled to herself as she entered the catacombs without anyone knowing she was even around.
-Inside the catacombs-
Kaname waited until she was fairly deep inside the underground area before she turned visible again, but only when no one was around to see her do so. She was violating school rules and thumbing her nose at the government just by being here, but the hybrid's curiosity was engaged. She was not going to turn back without something to show for the trip. She walked until she spotted a glowing hall that was currently blocked by water that had flooded the hall. However, Kaname was not the only explorer of this particular path.
Someone or something was in front of her. It was testing the water by throwing pebbles into it and observing what happened to the stones when they hit the water. That was a smart thing to do in an unknown environment like this. Kaname kept her sword concealed as she spoke to the creature. "Hi there. Are you exploring the catacombs too?" Kaname asked the being kneeling at the water's edge. She was afraid that she might startle it into jumping in or falling in, but it was too late now. She had already spoken... she hoped that it would not accidentally fall into the water and suffer ill effects from the liquid.

This Post: 432 Total for Oras: 432
Normally Oras didn't try leaving without his summoner unless it was an emergency. As normally he insisted on staying nearby her to keep her safe. However, there was the rare occasion when an opportunity arose that just, couldn't be passed up. He and the faculty had been. Well on opposite sides of most discussions. Someone in the staff helped him out from time to time though, especially when it came to him getting them to let Ryse take off for three weeks. So he could help her with her species issue. This time however, they were denying any students from entering what was essentially what Oras called a dungeon. Ancient catacombs that were recently uncovered underneath the Academy. The staff had marked it as forbidden to enter... So of course Oras was going to look through it. He wasn't a student, and he honestly didn't care what their rules were. He'd overthrown corrupted government, staff, rulers, even ordinary things like parents. He didn't care much about rules unless it had sense behind it. And he wanted to see if they were hiding something...
Oras strode through the entrance, annoyed at how easy it was to get past the security. This place was supposed to be the best magical school? This was pathetic... Or maybe he was just so used to more skilled individuals who were hunting him on a daily basis... That had been a fun three weeks. He chuckled at the memory, but soon found himself in the first room of the catacombs. It appeared that this hallway was flooded with water. Two students were in the room too. One of them he recognized as the lamb and wolf creature. He walked over to the two of them and patted the lamb on the back with a smirk. "I'll figure you out sooner or later." He looked at the two of them staring at the water and rolled his eyes. "Amateurs," he said before backing up. He then took a running start and leaped into the air, shattering his body into a mist of ice shards. The result was him gliding over to the other side, reforming.
Oras waved his hand and conjured up a frozen bridge over the water with supports to keep it strong. It was also made of Form VI ice. Strong and durable as steel itself. "You guys want to keep staring at the water or shall we take a look around? Unless you two were thinking of taking a bath that is." Oras turned around and made his way up to look into the glowing room.

She had left campus not too long ago, following behind a flock of students and other people from around town. To prevent attracting any attention, she was once more in her form of a white cat. She knew where they were all headed. It was blatantly obvious to recognize that the newly discovered, and quickly forbidden entrance to a system of catacombs was everyone's goal. With her own curiosity being tickled by the thought of unexplored depths, it wasn't hard to imagine that everyone else was feeling the same thing.
Though, as she passed through the entrance without issue, she adamantly convinced herself that she was mainly here to keep the others out of harm's way. Like she was supposed to. This task wasn't made any easier by the fact that the path quickly diverged and the flock split into three. Slightly unsure of where to go, the cat waited around for a little while, before she arbitrarily decided to follow a certain white haired boy. She had never seen him before, nor did she think much of anything about him. It was simply one of her whims that led her to witness how he joined up with two others, one of which she recognized. They had met before, at the library. The being had intrigued her even back then, so this was like a golden chance to hit two birds with one stone.
Before she could even make her presence known, however, the boy had already, quite literally, bridged the wet obstacle in their course, something that she was instinctively glad for. Wet fur was horrifying. Stepping up to the bridge, she placed a single paw on the ice before quickly recoiling at the coldness of it. Of course. And without much further ado, her form began to shift and twist, before settling into the shape of a small, white-haired girl with strikingly blue eyes and an incredible lack of expression on her face, clad in a white zipper-hoodie and black skirt. "Patience is a virtue... but sometimes.. action takes precedence...", she almost muttered in her uncannily soft voice before setting foot on the ice and making her way over to the other side as if she had been around since the very beginning. Once there, she turned around to wait on the other two, tilting her head sligthly as if she was curious as to why they waited.

Anarra would be lying if she said she always followed the rules. Sometimes even she knew that breaking them was necessary. But in this case, she had come because of her curiosity. And because a certain Atronach had persuaded her to. Even if he hadn't she would've gone to the Catacombs anyways. These Catacombs were ancient, she knew, and thus might hold some sort of artifact or relic from the past. Perhaps it would hold the relic she'd been searching for. The one only legends and myths spoke of. One that could turn the area around it back to its original state. Finding it here, underneath the school of all places, would save her quite a bit of time searching for it.
She didn't have invisibility, or could turn herself small enough to pass around the guards. The smallest she could shrink herself was 4 feet, but even then she as her normal deer self would be much too noticeable. In order to sneak past the guards, she asked a few of her animal friends for their assistance. While they distracted the guards, she shrunk herself to 4 feet and slipped into the entrance of the Catacombs, unnoticed.
She walked along one of the hallways, deciding to follow the cat and the Atronach who was rushing just a few feet ahead of her, her hooves clip clopping on the stone ground. Upon doing so, she saw that a lamb wolf creature and a human girl was already there. Oras quickly leaped across and formed an ice bridge, the cat beginning to walk across. Cautiously setting a hoof on the ice bridge, and shivering as the cold caused her body to tighten and recoil from the sudden freezing temperature, the hybrid slowly walked across until she reached the other side. Upon doing so, she hurriedly shook herself, the flames on her back and antlers brightening as she warmed herself back up again. She was made of plants, and as such she and cold did not mix well.

Water rippled softly as stones flew into it seeming to not be negatively affected by the liquid showing that it was indeed likely simple water or at least not a dangerous substance. Eventually the pebbles vanished from sight as they descended into the depths of the flooded hall showing that it was likely deeper than expected, perhaps the floor had given out years ago under the water. Of course, with an ice bridge now secured over the water there would be no reason to actually interact with the flood further.
The room up ahead was finally accessible to the group exploring this section! When someone chose to venture in at first sight it was completely gorgeous lightly illuminated blue by specks all around the walls. Only, if one chose to look closer they would quickly find the warm blue glow was generated by worms!

The creature would observe the rocks as they did not have any strange reaction when tossed into the liquid and simply sank into the depths of the stuff that was more than likely water before it. Well at least it wasn’t dangerous, but how to cross it? Did it want to swim for the hell of it or did it actually want to use its abilities to travel instead? The creature might’ve thought about it, but the sound of footsteps and a voice caught its attention as it stayed kneeled by the water’s edge for a while longer.
“Yes we are indeed exploring this place for data,” the creature would say before looking over its shoulder at the other. “Who be you?” the creature would ask as its eyes glowed in the gloom of the place they were in. As it waited for the answer it would stand up as another came into the area. This face was one the creature knew. As the man approached it and patted it on its back the wolf would tilt its head as the lamb simply chuckled. “Are you stalking us to figure our secrets out, Oras?” the creature would ask in a playful manner quite amused that they had met once more. Whatever had drawn them together was a mystery, but one the dream did not bother pondering for now as it was quickly distracted by something else as Oras decided to take it upon himself to go across the water like liquid.
The creature would watch the other’s ability wondering just exactly what he was as he reformed on the other side. When he created the ice bridge, the creature would hum softly as the other posed the question; however, before it could answer, it would blink as a familiar white cat appeared on the scene and seemed to test bridge before deciding that it didn’t want to go in paws first and shifted into a white haired girl who spoke some words before going across the bridge and waiting for them. Well then, they should perhaps go al—Hm?
Now there was a strange deer made of earth and fire? The creature would blink once more watching the creature react to the bridge as it crossed too. Well this was certainly getting interesting, but it would become a bore if they stayed on the opposite side of the fun, wouldn't it. Hmmm...time to go. Looking back at the girl on the side of the bridge with it, the lamb would make a gesture for her to come with it before approaching the bridge and placing a hoof upon it.
The bridge was cold, but the Nightmare did not react to it by shivering or recoiling as it simply crossed the bridge with the concept of coldness in its head and nothing more. Being a creature that wasn’t exactly of this world it did not experience things in the same fashion as those more bound to reality.
Once safely across, the creature would glance back to make sure no one was left behind or even if they were at least give them a last glance before moving forward. “Come along my children,” the creature would say as it moved deeper into the glowing room with Oras. Looking around, the creature would admire the strange and warm hue of blue in the room before going towards a wall for closer inspection. Upon looking the creature would discover that the glow was coming from strange wiggly things in the wall. What were they called? Snake? Rope? No both were to large and the latter was not living. This was…..OH! A worm. Yes. This room was illuminated by worms. How curious.
“The walls are covered in worms should we take some with us?” Perhaps they could light a dark path or something ahead. Though the creature had to wonder would the creature still glow if it was out of the wall? Even more curious, it would materialize a pair of strange tweezers from the thin air with its natural ability before moving in carefully to try and pluck the worm out of its hole with no regards for what sort of chain reaction this might cause if it was successful.
